Allen-Littleton to lead ACUI region

University Student Union Programs Coordinator Keya Allen-Littleton has an interesting two years ahead. Not only is she the new Region 15 Director for Association of College Unions International that oversees California, Nevada, Hawaii, Australia and Guam, but she’s also the first from California State University, Long Beach to do so.
“I feel like it’s a challenge I’m up to,” Allen-Littleton said.
As regional director, Allen-Littleton is ready to tackle several challenges ahead, including recruiting more community college organizations into ACUI, increasing new membership, and revitalizing recreation weekend and upcoming conferences.
She is also looking to turn the 15th Region into a “super region,” that would include schools in Washington, Texas and Arizona.
Allen-Littleton said she would also like to focus on encouraging volunteerism, and the fact that her region has the most student volunteers than any other one in ACUI shows she will probably succeed.
“ACUI is about development, student leadership, and the importance of cultivating leadership from new professionals, to mid-managers to senior managers,” she said.
Allen-Littleton will officially begin her stint as regional director at the upcoming conference in Reno in November.
